Directories - Coming Soon
What's gonna go here? I plan to slowly fill this with personally curated directories of websites organized by theme or type. I'm inspired here by early internet directories like Anime Turnpike, that were hand-curated collections of links. Before search engines took over, it was directories, webrings and direct communication on message boards that often told you what sites were hip or cool. Then search engines and algorithms took over... for a while at least.
Now that the internet is quickly dying and even the behemoth search engines pretty much suck, I think one of the most powerful and valuable things we can do as humans is to curate for one another, to return to collecting our own special places online and sharing them with one another. The things is, no agent or neural network is going to make quite the selections you do, and whether other people vibe to your lists or not there is a value inherent to them because they are human-made. At least, that's what I believe.
